DICOM Preferences

The DICOM preferences determine the default query performed at start-up, the number of series in a study that will be initially loaded, and device information such as the Client AE title and DICOM node. Choose DICOM in the Preferences dialog to open the DICOM preferences, shown below.

Description

Enable image counting at series…

If selected, the number of images in each series will be counted during searches on remote DICOM and PACS servers. You should note that selecting this option may slow down queries.

Remember last search

If selected, the last search of the local database will be retained in memory and displayed at startup.

Query executed at startup

Allows you to select a search of the local database that will be executed automatically at startup.

None… No query will be executed.

Unread studies… A search for all unread studies will be executed.

Last search… A search using the criteria of the last search performed will be executed. You must select the "Remember last search" option to enable this function.

First saved search… A search using the criteria of your first saved search will be executed.

Nb of series to load from studies

Lets you select the number of series in a study that will be loaded automatically when you choose View Study in the Manage DICOM Images dialog.

Client AE title1

Lists the application entity (AE) title assigned to your workstation, which is part of your DICOM identification.

Local node1

Lists the local node name assigned to your workstation, which is part of your DICOM identification.

1 PACS administrators need this information to connect your device to remote PACS servers and other DICOM nodes.
